ANIMAL HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEM

HYBRID MOBILE APPLICATION

A hybrid mobile App will be connected with the main database of AHIS. This mobile app will be user friendly and will enable the officials of livestock department to save respective data even if there are no internet signals. This data will be automatically uploaded in the main server once the internet is available.

This system will digitalize data collection and analysis with technological advances:

Providing comprehensive information to decision makers on disease, control measures and other consequences.

Sharing of information within Balochistan province and between provinces (early warning system).

Monitoring disease occurrence and control programs.

Estimating vaccination coverage, providing information required to meet international disease reporting needs.

Supporting declarations of disease frees status for trading purposes.

Identifying unusual disease events or emerging diseases.

Highlighting shortfalls/gaps in livestock services.

COMPONENTS OF AHIS:

AHIS consist for the following modules according to the business flow of the Livestock department.

CVH/CVD MODULE

This module will be used by official from civil veterinary Hospitals/ civil veterinary dispensaries across the province. At the arrival of animal, the staff will register the owner. The registration will help the staff to know whether this owner has visited any CVH/CVD in the province. Then the staff will refer the animal to treatment/ vaccination/ surgical/ A.I/ diagnostic lab section.

This CVH/CVD data will provide information about disease status in each district which can be helpful to generate early warning against various diseases. The higher authorities can monitor animal health activities in these veterinary components through the main dashboard of AHIS. It will help the authority to know the need of medicine and vaccine demands in each district. This module will enable the officials to declare status (endemic/ epidemic/ pandemic) of a particular disease in a specific area. This will help us in ranking of various contagious/ infectious/ zoonotic diseases throughout the province.

ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION MODULE

This data base will provide transparent data about the number of animals inseminated daily in the area of each AI center. Data about production and supply of liquid nitrogen will also be available in this database.

Information from this database will help to know demand of preserved semen in different areas in the province. District wise data of the inseminated animals as well as conception rates will be available. The database will provide information about revenue generated from A.I. services throughout the province and sale of liquid nitrogen to other organizations.

DISEASE INVESTIGATION LABORATORY MODULE

In the database will contain information about samples received from private as well public farms, diagnostics test performed on these samples.

Data form laboratory database will be provided transparent information about frequency of samples, number of positive cultures, diseases confirmed by tests, data of antimicrobials sensitive or susceptible tests. This database will also helpful in generating disease alerts.
