Al-Nawawi’s Forty is a book that contains forty honorable prophetic hadiths, collected by Imam Al-Nawawi’s Forty Al-Nawawi, who insisted in collecting them to be authentic, and Al-Nawawi explained the reason for his collection of the forty, so he said:

“Among the scholars gathered the forty in the fundamentals of the religion, some in the branches, some in jihad, some in asceticism and some in sermons, and all of them are good intentions, may God be pleased with those who seek them. I have seen the collection of forty more important than all of this, and they are forty hadiths that include all of that, and each hadith is a great rule of the religion, and the scholars have described it as the orbit of Islam over it, or half of Islam, or a third of it, or something like that.[1]

Then I made a commitment in these forty days that they be correct, and I deleted their chains of transmission to make it easier to memorize, then I followed them with a chapter on controlling their hidden words.[2] The author completed her composition on the night of Thursday, Jumada al-Awwal 29, 668 AH.
