Citiq Students

The purpose of the project is to create systems for CitiQ student accommodation that

will give them a better interaction system between them and their students, makes

sure that students are able to report their maintenance issues, making their system

digitalized and all these in forms of altering the existing website for potential clients

by adding features that will give them a solution to their problem with communicating

with students residents or not together with an online application on the website and

a mobile app for residents living at the CitiQ buildings.

The thing that lad we on creating this app and website was that a lot of students have

problems that did not attend, and to find that the head office will say they did not

know about the issue that was raised and the same problem continued and as the

results it reduced the number of beds occupied by students, because of two out of ten

students from the past year will not return, students start telling others about the poor

service rendered by the company and year after year they started to lose half of their

investment.

After we noticed that the failure of the company lies in the hands of the res managers

(house mothers) not informing the head office of what issues students face, we then

decided to create an app that will help the students communicate directly with the

management. This app was designed to inform management about student

grievances. For example, the CEO will now have an idea of what is happening in

each res and can communicate with students more efficiently than before. The

purpose of this app will be to assist students with grievances, maintain the order and

complexity of maintenance issues, inform residents about upcoming events &

external issues through the use of push notifications.

We will be using beacons technology to send push notifications. Why push

notifications? We want students to be aware of issues and events at their respective

residences before they get there. This will help in reducing the amount of time

wasted to go to res, where there’s no Wi-Fi, water or electricity. Any problems and

issues would be.

We know that time is imported to students, so this app will help them to save time

going up and down for asking for service and help, they can request where they are and

the service officer can come where the problem is and fix it. While students are

relaxing and studying. This helps the company increase its profit via advertisement

and communication with students. Students will return and stay next only if they are

hard.
