Spiderscape

Spiderscape is a side-on 2D platformer where you, a small spider, must escape a series of maze like levels as you try to find your way to freedom. The goal of each new room is to get to the final door, located at the end of the level, and to do this the player must navigate a series of jumps, traps, enemy-filled passages, and puzzles in order to progress through three different environments and the challenges they hold.

Using a simple set of controls, the player must manoeuvre the spider through a series of increasingly challenging levels where, amongst other things, the character may actually pass behind the buttons used to control it. Careful timing will be important to avoid several hazards but, as there is no way to permanently lose, trial and error will eventually allow the player to progress. The game resets the current level upon contact with an enemy or lethal hazard but saves the game in the process; as a result of the auto-save functions, the player can put the game down at any point and choose the load game function from the menu to resume from the start of the last level entered.

With over twenty levels, the game provides hours of gameplay and can be picked up again at any time. Replayability is a key feature, letting the player go back to the three worlds as often as they like once the game is complete.
