The Doctrine and Covenants is a book of scripture that contains revelations the Lord gave to the Prophet Joseph Smith and a few other modern prophets. As Scripture it is unique in that it is not a translation of ancient documents.

The book of Doctrine and Covenants is a collection of divine revelations and inspired declarations that have been given for the establishment and regulation of the kingdom of God on earth in the last days.

The Doctrine and Covenants is one of four books of scripture used in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the remaining three are the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Pearl of Great Price).
