Research app for collecting a dataset in the wild to build an emotion model
Nowadays, mobile devices have become ubiquitous and the way we interact with them or the amount of time we dedicate to our devices has changed significantly. Previous work has tried to quantify human emotion based on data from mobile device usage, however, most of the studies were limited in size or relied only on data collected in laboratory settings. In this project, we study emotions from smartphone usage patterns in-the-wild. More specifically, we want to model emotional responses during everyday activities, which can help improving smartphone applications. To achieve this goal, we will collect a large-scale dataset using this application. The app will collect smartphone sensor data together with touch data and device events from participating users.
