Equals: Job Matching App for PWDs

Employment plays an important role in contributing to the growth of society. Today, equal job opportunities are being enjoyed by job applicants that seek to provide their service or skill expertise in return for payment and benefits. However, finding a job is still a challenge for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). PWDs are those who have long-term impairment of physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory ability that hinders their full capability in society on being even with others. ("Convention on the Rights of PWDs" 2017).

Equals facilitated by the Philippine Council of Organization on Disability and Empowerment Inc. (PHILCODE) is a web-based job resource hub that enables PWDs to seek employment opportunities. In collaboration with Foundation for These-Abled Persons Inc. (FTI), the assigned administrator of Equals under PHILCODE, they acknowledge the importance of having a mobile application. Most of their PWDs members prefer using mobile phones because it's much easier and accessible. The development of Equals mobile application provides a conducive way of finding inclusive job vacancies for Persons with Disabilities, giving them the right to demonstrate their skills in an appropriately matched job position. Persons with Disabilities with a PWD ID Card and employers to connect, find, and provide employment in the Philippines. Android Studio will be used as a primary platform for developing the application and includes installation files such as Android Application Package (APK) for Android devices.
