FallDetector

The FallDetector is an application which can detect someone's falling, and then call for help by sending an SMS

or by making a phone call, to a predefined telephone number. Figure 1 shows the interface when the user opens the application.

In the first field, the user puts the phone number that wants to call for help in case of falling. The second field

is optional. The user can write his/her own message for help, otherwise the application will send a default message.

The application does not use the GPS, so it would be helpful for the user to locate his/her position, in the alert

message. When the user presses the "Start Monitor" button, it changes to a "Stop Monitoring" button, as you can see in

Figure 2. Now the application is active. The user can go back to the home screen and use the phone as he/she wants.

When the application detects a fall, issues an alarm as you can see in Figure 3. If the alarm is false, the user

can cancel it by pressing the "Yes" button. If the alarm is real and the user is conscious but wants to call for help,

he/she can press the "No" button to make a phonecall to the predefined phone number. Finally, if the user is

unconscious, the application will send an SMS to the predefined number after 20 seconds.
