This Gilena application will be very useful for you to move around its streets, locate each place to eat, parks where you can walk, a variety of sports proposals that you can do in the town, places that you can visit of tourist and cultural interest, ... you will be able to discover incredible paths between pine trees and Mediterranean forest. Gilena is a valley, an environmentally privileged place where you can discover birds such as the red partridge, goldfinch, crossbill, greenfinch, little owl, stonechat... pines of different types and centuries-old oaks, or a culture and historical-archaeological heritage of great interest. You will be able to visit perfectly preserved and musealized Chalcolithic caves.

You will be able to participate in well-established international activities such as the "Caster Legionis", a historical recreation of a Roman camp and "Artifex", an open-air limestone sculpture symposium in the urban area. Dates in which to visit Gilena add important ingredients. This guide will show you its excavated buildings and their history. You will be able to take a trip back in time for more than 4,500 years, from Prehistory, through cultures such as the Iberian, Roman, Visigothic, Arab... to the present day. All this you will be able to know through the permanent exhibition of our local museum institution

With regard to festivals and traditions, Gilena has La Fiesta del Rosario, the emblematic Day of the “fools”, the singular “Carrerilla de San Juan” celebrated during Holy Week, as well as the August Fair.
