The Shelby Daytona Coupe - also known as the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe is an American sports car. This car was built for auto racing, specifically to take on Ferrari and its 250 GTO in the GT class. Just six Shelby Daytona Coupes were built between 1964 and 1965. The first Shelby Daytona Coupe was built at the Shelby American race shop in Venice, California, the remaining five Shelby's were built at Carrozzeria Gransport. The Shelby Daytona became the first American constructor to win a title on the international scene at the FIA World Sportscar Championship in 1965. This was one of the most iconic cars created in motoring history!
