We are living in the era of evidence based medicine. To be an efficient professional with high ethical

values, we have to keep ourselves well informed about the innovations, inventions & changing patterns

of practice in modern ophthalmology. Sharing of knowledge, experience and skill among our ophthalmic

community is the key to match the global march of ophthalmology. Organizing major national academic

events help to achieve the objective of mutual sharing of information in our professional community. OSP

has continuously organized successful, excellent national and regional congresses. However, the fact which

needs to be acknowledged and appreciated is that OSP has managed to keep pace with global innovations

and advancements in ophthalmology with very limited resources.

To work out the design of scientific program for this mega event was indeed a great challenge which the

scientific committee accepted with focus mind and open heart. All the members of scientific committee worked

really hard to finalize the program. Scientific program comprises of scientific workshops, instruction courses,

symposia, panel discussion, great debates and named lecture in various sub-specialties of ophthalmology.

It also focuses professional ethics, research and bio statistics. Our colleagues from optometry and vision

sciences will also enlighten us and focus on relevant topics of our profession. Masters of ophthalmology

will be sharing decades of their professional experience and expertise by unveiling the mystery of the most

important aspects of ophthalmology in plenary sessions.
