TEMISITE (www.temisite.com) is a Mobile Application consolidating data from Tanzania’s small scale mineral sector. The app serves as an online community for the sectors’ stakeholders, providing them with a reliable platform where they can access and share information and data for mutual benefit. Currently TEMISITE targets small scale gold miners in Geita District, Tanzania who will be linked with equipment suppliers and gold buyers in order to solve the challenges of market, capital and poor technology. The Application offers real-time reporting, posting of short video clips and pictures of minerals, placing orders for equipment from various suppliers and asking questions. Thus, It facilitates the exchange of pictures and short video clips between Artisanal Small Scale Miners (ASSM) and dealers. Besides, the App will also provide HIV/AIDS information and interventions to ASSM.
