Fast delivery of information and news is of great value in the present time as people are demanding for real time updates. With the ongoing trend of false information floating around the web, it was engaging to uncover ways on how to put a stop to the spread of hoaxes and fake news. To satisfy the never-ending need of updated information, the developers conceptualized MAEVIS, a mobile application specifically made for Android that allows users to report and view emergencies in their area. These reports were categorized into three types namely fire, flood, and vehicular accidents. MAEVIS’ main objective was to give out real-time news and information about emergencies nearby a user’s current location without compensating the authenticity of those events.
