Cinque Terre - National Park in Italy, including man-made terraces and five small settlements on the coast of the Gulf of Genoa in the province of La Spezia Administrative region Liguria. The region is located on the territory of the eastern part of the so-called Riviera - Riviera di Levante. Local monuments date back to the Middle Ages but the appearance of some settlements dates back to Roman times.

In 1997, Cinque Terre together with the city of Portovenere and the nearest islands ( Palmaria Tino and Tinetto ) became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The life of the inhabitants despite the presence of all the benefits of civilization has changed little. Cinque Terre is very popular among tourists.

The shore is rocky and steep beaches are stone or pebbly except for the sandy beach in Monterosso. In the villages preserved medieval defenses from pirates. Manarola and Riomaggiore is connected by the picturesque Road of Love (Italian Via dell'Amore).

The inhabitants kitchen consists mainly of seafood but on the terraces also grown grapes and olives wines and liqueurs are produced.
