Shield VPN: US VPN for Android

Need a VPN for Android that’s quick to install and easy to use? Shield VPN is a secure VPN app and proxy for your phone, made for everyday life in California and across the US. Download it, tap once, and your VPN connection starts. No sign-up, no setup maze. It helps protect your data on public Wi-Fi and hides your IP address behind a VPN server’s IP.

WHY CALIFORNIANS USE A VPN

From a coffee shop in San Francisco to an LAX gate, a campus library in Los Angeles, a startup office in San Jose or a beach rental in San Diego, shared Wi-Fi is everywhere. Shield VPN encrypts the traffic between your phone and the VPN server, so checking email, shopping or banking on public Wi-Fi is harder for others on the network to snoop on. Turn it on before you connect.

PUBLIC VPN PROTECTION ON SHARED WI-FI

Airports, hotels, cafes, libraries and campuses all run shared networks. A VPN adds a protective layer between your phone and the network, useful for email, shopping, banking and everyday browsing.

KEEP YOUR IP ADDRESS PRIVATE

Your internet provider and the sites you visit can see your IP address. While Shield VPN is on, sites see the VPN server’s IP address instead. A simple way to browse more privately at home, at work or on mobile data.

CHOOSE WHICH APPS USE THE VPN

The built-in App Filter lets you pick which apps go through the VPN and which keep your normal connection. It’s handy when a banking app or a local service works better without a VPN.

START FREE, UPGRADE IF YOU WANT

Free VPN servers are ready right after install. Want premium servers? Watch a short rewarded ad to unlock them, or upgrade with an optional in-app purchase for an ad-free experience. The app is supported by ads, and you can cancel a subscription anytime in Google Play.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What does a VPN do?

A VPN encrypts your traffic and routes it through a VPN server, so websites see the server’s IP address instead of yours.

How does a VPN work?

It creates an encrypted tunnel between your phone and a VPN server. Your traffic travels through that tunnel before it reaches the internet.

What is a VPN connection?

It’s the secure link between your device and a VPN server. In Shield VPN, you start it by tapping Connect.

What is a VPN used for on a phone?

Common uses are protecting data on public Wi-Fi, keeping your IP address private and adding security on networks you don’t trust.

Is Shield VPN free?

Yes, free servers are available. Premium servers unlock with a short rewarded ad or an optional in-app purchase.

Do I need an account?

No. You can start without signing up.

Will a VPN make me fully anonymous?

No. A VPN helps protect your connection but can’t make you completely anonymous. Access to a specific app or website can’t be guaranteed, and results vary by service and network.
