The Book of Major Sins by Al-Dhahabi and the Book of Zawajir by Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami without internet

Major sins are: all major and major sins, such as associating partners with God Almighty, abandoning prayer, abandoning zakat, killing a soul that God has forbidden except by right, witchcraft, disobedience to parents, usury, adultery, and swearing oaths... Their degrees vary in terms of ugliness and greatness. The crime, and the seven grave sins are the greatest of them, and that is why they are described as fatal sins, otherwise they are among the major sins. In the two Sahih books, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Avoid the seven grave sins. They said, O Messenger of God; And what are they? He said: Polytheism of God, witchcraft, killing a soul that God has forbidden except by right, consuming usury, consuming an orphan’s wealth, turning away on the day of battle, and slandering chaste believing and unaware women.

As for its number: we cannot limit it, because the scholars differed regarding it. Some of them counted it as seventy, and some of them more than that, and it was stated in the work of Abd al-Razzaq and others: It was said to Ibn Abbas: Are the major sins seven? He said: It is closer to seventy.

Some investigators have established a criterion by which it is known: which is that every sin for which there is a punishment in this world, or a threat in the afterlife, such as torment, anger, punishment, threat, or curse, in the Book of God Almighty, or in the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Peace be upon him, he is great.
