The Book of Manaqib Lujainud Dani is a thin book written by a Kurdistan scholar with the surname Al-Barzanji: Shaykh Husein bin Abdul Karim bin Muhammad. “Barzanji” can also be spelled “barzinji”. Lujain ad-Dani tells the story of the life and mystical (trace) moments of a waliyyullah: Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani.

The specialty of this book is the author's factor. Shaykh Husein bin Abdul Karim bin Muhammad al-Barzanji is a figure known to be affiliated with the Qadiriyah order. A school of mu'tabarah Sufi practice that relies on the experience of the Sufism of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani. Apart from Lujainud Dani, Sheikh Husein also has another work which is even more popular, namely Iqd al-Jawahir fi Maulid an-Nabiyy al-Azhar which contains the story of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.

Even this book is very popular, known as "Maulid al-Barzanji" alone.

Lujainud Dani's popularity was born due to the influence of the scientific tradition of the early figures who spread Islam in the archipelago with the Kurdish scientific tradition. The phenomenon of praying for blessings a la pesantren, especially regarding the manaqib of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, is also similar to the traditions of the Kurdish people or Kurdistan, now part of the Iraqi state. In Kurdish, the influence of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani is very central, almost influential figures there are practitioners of the Qadiriyyah order.

The term ngalap blessing itself in Arabic literature is known as tabarruk: expecting the presence of a blessing. This blessing or barokah means ziyadatul khair or getting 'plus value' from a good deed. That is, it can be understood if the practice of manaqiban carried out by certain people is intended so that there is a 'blessing' that comes with or after the reading of the book of manaqib is carried out.

In the context of tabarruk's, the practice of reading and listening to Lujainud Dani's manakib is done with the hope of getting 'blessings' from Allah's guardians. Through the narration of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani's life practices, readers and listeners both hope for blessings to come. That is the reason why people in rural areas (north coast) often carry out the 'read-see manaqib tradition' when they have certain needs. Of course this desire is very diverse. Starting from work, marriage, circumcision, and various things depending on the owner of the intention.
