A rhythm game based on shifting patterns.
Tapping Music is a rhythm game inspired by musical work Steve Reich's Clapping Music, where a basic rhythm pattern repeats with a portion of that pattern shifted over time. One performer plays the pattern unaltered, while the second performer shifts one 'beat' with each repetition. The rhythm patterns start 'in sync' and with each repetition shift out of sync. The patterns eventually realign. The combination of two out-of-sync patterns creates moments of perceived syncopation, accent, and hocket along the way.
