Those Spaniards made a lot of efforts to find such springs. They interrogated captive Indians with partiality, did not disdain torture, and spent a total of many years searching.

More than others, a certain Pons de Leon, a professional warrior and adventurer, was zealous and managed to get the title of ruler of the island of Hispaniola - modern Haiti - and Puerto Rico by the end of his life. In 1511, he personally took part in the interrogation of captured Indians, who told him about the miraculous source. According to them, one Indian, "stooped over by old age", drank water from an unobtrusive spring, after which he "regained male power and performed male duties, taking a new wife and giving birth to children."

However, the long-term search for Pons de Leon himself ended to no avail. Maybe the Indians tricked the too gullible Spaniard? Everything is possible in this world. But here is the story a journalist and writer Mikhail Rechkin told about this.

In 1998, a newspaper article came up to his arm containing a letter from a certain Helen Nikitin from the USA. She testified:
