Define your own categories and types. For sports memorabilia the categories might be football, baseball, and soccer with category types of equipment, autographs and events. For paintings the categories might be oil, watercolor and etchings with category types of canvas, wood, and paper. You decide how to categorize what your collecting and CAE can be configured to handle it.

Once setup you start adding items to the collection by taking pictures, selecting the appropriate category and type and setting the current value. Once stored in the collection catalog, the items value will be tracked keeping a history of how you change the value of every item over time which can be graphed.
