Explorística 2.0 - Submarine

Explorística 2.0 is an initiative of Statistics Portugal, aiming to bring to the educational communities the fundamentals of statistics and probabilities (with a focus on sampling), conveying the concepts in a practical and experimental way.

Explorística 2.0 integrates several games, each one involving activities such as selecting, collecting, describing and estimating.

Submarine – A submarine expedition in a lake where it is necessary to collect specimens of a new predatory reptile who is causing the fish to become scarcer. Players weigh, measure and identify the sex and age of each of the specimens they catch. After this data collection, the players learn to make a diagram of extremes and quartiles.
