Flag Quiz

This fun multiple choice Flags Quiz is split into the following categories:

- Africa Flags

- America Flags

- Asia Flags

- Europe Flags

- Oceania Flags

- Territories Flags

- Unofficial Flags

- US State Flags

Each flag is shown in the correct aspect ratio. I feel this is an important feature because some flags look very similar. For example, Indonesia and Monaco have almost identical red and white horizontal stripes on their flags but the Indonesia flag ratio is 2:3 while the Monaco flag ratio is 4:5

Since some countries are known by more than one name, this flag quiz game aims to include both names. Please note that only the English names of countries have been included. For instance, Germany is known as Germany in this app and not as Deutschland.

The total number of countries in the world is still disputed to this day but for the purpose of this app, I have decided to go for the most often cited total of 195 because this is what is recognized by the United Nations.

Since every country recognizes every other country in a different way, it is impossible to please everyone (but I try). The flags included in this app does not attempt to create any political bias or try to suggest what lands belong to whose sovereign territory - instead this app chooses its flags based on a majority recognition. For example, out of the 195 countries listed, there are 163 countries that recognize Israel as a country. Similarly, Palestine is recognized as a country by 136 UN members. There are many more examples which I won't go into as it would be far too complex.

The latest version of each national flag is used throughout this app with the most recently modified flag being Mauritania, which has added two red stripes to the top and bottom of their flag.
