What are the Equinoxes?

Equinoxes are the time (twice each year) when the Sun crosses the celestial equator. This is when day and night are of equal length. The Spring or Vernal Equinox occurs approximately March 21st; the Fall or Autumn Equinox takes place on or around September 21st.

What was the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn?

The Golden Dawn was a British organization or fraternity devoted to the study and practice of esoteric spirituality, metaphysics, and the paranormal. Known as a "magickal order", they focused on theurgy, ritual, and spiritual development. Their system was based on hierarchy and initiation, similar to the Masonic Lodges, but women were admitted on an equal basis with men.
