Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. When starting out in Stray, you meet the hero cat. They are nameless, injured and alone. But this is no alley cat. In a strange city populated only by robots, their sole objective is to navigate their way home.

Brought to life by a team of cat lovers at BlueTwelve Studio, the cat possesses all the lovable traits you might expect from a fearless feline protagonist.

Pushing things off ledges

Cat owners know all too well how much cats love pushing things off ledges. At least in Stray it serves a purpose. You’ll be using this essential skill to open up paths to progress through the city or find hidden areas.

Meowing

With a dedicated ‘meow’ button, you’ll be able to meow to your heart’s content. It may seem innocuous but it’s helpful for adopting the mindset of a cat and understanding how they typically interact with their environment.

Curiosity

It pays to explore the environment, and the cat’s body language hints at where you should be especially wary. Keep your wits about you and ensure the age-old proverb – curiosity killed the cat - doesn’t come true.

Sleeping

A cat wouldn’t be a cat if it didn’t spend most of the day sleeping, and in Stray, you can choose when and where to doze. When curled up and purring contentedly, the DualSense wireless controller's haptic feedback and speaker will make it feel like you’re holding the sleeping kitty in your own hands.

Scratching

You can also scratch furniture and other surfaces. Stray utilises force-feedback in the DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive triggers to really make it feel like you’re destroying something.

Feeling the environment

Cats often rely on touch to navigate the world. Rub up against the legs of friendly robots and even hide in boxes – it may come in useful when you need to hide. Riding zip lines, pushing objects and interacting with certain items all have their own unique feel thanks to the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback.
