Escola de Matrícula Kamak, Tutucorin
The Schools were founded in 1985 by Rao Sahib K.A.M.A.Kaliappa Nadar, a merchant banker and businessman from Tuticorin. His service to society knew no bounds and he even donated an ambulance to the World War I Relief. He contributed to the KAMAK YMCA, Madurai for the deaf and dumb and also developed KAMAK school in Krishnaperi. His contribution was noted and he was invited to England for the coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth. On his return he was awarded the title "Rao Sahib" by the Viceroy of India, Victor Hope, 2nd Marquess of Linlithgow, an honor to individuals who performed great service in visionary leadership to the nation. After the war, he established Kamak Charities and a Hospital in Sivakasi to treat patients free of cost. In 1985 he started the Kamak Schools to provide positive catalytic impulses to every child to stretch his inherent learning competencies through self discovery process.
