The Cherifian Anthem has been the anthem of the Kingdom of Morocco even before the country gained its independence in 1956.

Its music was written by Léo Morgan, and the final Arabic lyrics by Ali Squalli Houssaini in 1970.

Morocco, officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa.

Geographically, Morocco is characterized by a rugged mountainous interior and large portions of desert.

It is one of only three countries (with Spain and France) to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines.
