PTA Thrift Shop

The PTA Thrift Shop (PTA TS) is a high-impact, self-sustaining non-profit organization that serves adults, children, and families by using its financial and soft goods resources to fund educational needs and support human services. The PTA TS is Green Plus Certified and drives economic and community development. Its unique business model is scalable and has been duplicated in multiple states.

The PTA Thrift Shop, Inc's. main mission is to operate a resale business for the benefit of the Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) of the public schools located in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. The organization began in 1952 as a small, frequently moved sales room. Today it has grown into two large, well-located and maintained retail establishments in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
