The Candie’s Foundation “Cry Baby” app was created to give teenagers a glimpse into a virtual day-in-the-life of being a parent. The app encourages users to pause before they play by adopting a baby and catering to their needs for the next 24 hours. Your newborn will cry and you’ll have to figure out why!

This app is The Candie’s Foundation’s way of raising awareness for teen pregnancy prevention. Research has shown that girls who have been exposed to The Foundation and its message are more likely to view teen pregnancy and parenthood as stressful and negative, and are more likely to be skeptical of the media’s portrayal of teen pregnancy and parenting. Teens exposed to the cause’s initiatives also believe their peers should wait longer to have sex versus those who are not aware of The Candie’s Foundation and the education it brings about teen pregnancy.
