AGS - Ziran

Army Goodwill High School, Ziran is pioneering initiative by Army in the field of Education in Tangmarg region. It aims to motivate students into becoming achievers with strong human values.The school was established on 1st March 1999 by 11 Fd Regt (Zojila) and sponsored by HQ 8 Mtn Arty Bde. The school is in english medium with CBSE syllabus from 1st to IV. It was also proposed to extend one class every year.

The school was inaugrated by then chief minister of J&K State Dr.Farooq Abdullah on 28th of Mar 1999. The nominal role of students was then 215 with 11 staff members.

The efforts paid by then 11 Fed Regt (zojila) in getting recognition of Army Primary School to the State Board of School Education upto Vth primary was worth-while. The school got recognition initially upto Vth then it was extended upto 8th class till Dec 2003 and the school was at that time under aegis of 50RR (Kumano). The efforts being put by the 50RR, the school was upgraded from middle to secondary class from March 2004 and got permission from BOSE Kashmir to run classes upto 10th and now it is recognised upto 10th standard by Secretary of School Education Kashmir.
