CrowdSecurity for Drivers

Urban and rural crime prevention is a high-priority task for most municipalities. CrowdSecurity App is a proven solution that can bring down crime rates in Alberta. In this crowdsourcing crime stop mechanism, reporting suspects or adding tips to the incidents are the key.

County public work drivers, such as grader drivers or snowplow drivers, are “out there” almost all the time. If the County drivers could help report sightings of the suspects, it will greatly increase the chance of catching the criminals. Criminals will also avoid the area once they know they could get caught.

MRF proposes to develop an Android app for public work drivers so the drivers could use in-vehicle mounted Android tablets to receive crime reports while they are running other MRF apps or while driving.
