Mahjong 3D

Starting the Mahjong 3D

Select the purple and white play button on the Mahjong 3D welcome screen.

This will start the timed level version of the Mahjong 3D with you starting on the first level.

Each time you beat a level you will move on to the next level.

Your web browser automatically saves your mahjong 3d free progress.

The welcome screen also contains buttons to play in an easier untimed mode, read mahjong 3d free help instructions, view high scores, or play more mahjong 3d online on our site.

The bottom left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown while the bottom right corner of the welcome screen contains social sharing & mahjong 3d aarp developer information buttons.

Mahjong 3D Controls

Desktop

Use your mouse left click to select an open stone that has at least 2 sides open, then select an identical open stone.

You can also use the arrows on either side of the playing field or click on the screen and drag to scroll around and spin the tiles.

Touchscreen devices

Tap the screen with your finger to use it as a mouse.

Controls & indicators

The upper left corner of the screen shows which tile you have selected if you have any tile selected.

The upper right portion of the screen shows your current level, Mahjong 3D score, and remaining level time.

On each side of the playing field, there are arrows that can be rotated to spin the board clockwise or counterclockwise.

Matching open tiles

In traditional 2D mahjong solitaire, a stone is considered open if it is free on the left or right side & no stone is on top of it.

In 3D mahjong solitaire, a stone is considered open if at least 2 of the 4 sides (exclusive of top & bottom) are open.

When you pick an open stone it will highlight in yellow and a picture of it will show in the upper left corner of the mahjong 3d dark dimensions.

You can select stones to pair off even if they are not in view on the screen at the same time.

Levels

This game has 40 levels which must be completed sequentially.

Each level has its own time limit & a unique board layout.

If you fail to beat a level before time runs out you can try the level again.

Scoring

Your Mahjong 3D score is cumulative across levels.

Each matched pair is worth 30 points.

Each second you have remaining when you beat a level is worth 30 points.
