Mic-Lock is the companion app for the Mic-Lock microphone-blocker accessory. Plug a Mic-Lock into your phone, then use this app to prove it is actually doing its job.

VERIFY YOUR MIC-LOCK

Tap Begin verification and Mic-Lock records about five seconds of audio through your microphone, then gives you a plain-English verdict: is any sound getting past the blocker, or not? The audio is captured on-device only. Nothing is written to disk and nothing is uploaded — the app meters the live audio signal in memory, then it is gone.

Run the test with your Mic-Lock plugged in to confirm the microphone is blocked. Run it without one to hear exactly what any app that has microphone permission could capture right now. The difference between the two results is the proof that a hardware blocker works.

WHY A HARDWARE BLOCKER

Microphone permission is a software checkbox. Any app you have granted access can use the mic while it is open, and revoking permission isn't permanent — an app can ask again, and a single tap restores access. A Mic-Lock blocks the microphone connection at the hardware level, so no app or operating-system update can route around it. Music, calls, and podcasts still play through wired headphones; only the microphone input is blocked.
