Instead of going through each app disabling their notifications simply use this app to select the ones you want to block from your notifications bar

Its really simple to use!

Allows you to get statistics on all the received notifications.

You are busy and you just want to see notifications from the apps that matter to you like SMS, E-mail or Calls. Its really simple to block everything else.

You can even block notifications from the system apps!

The app offers a Widget which you can place on the lock screen or your home screen to switch between the available Profiles.

WORKS ON NON-ROOTED DEVICES

IMPORTANT USE NOTE:

Make sure that you grant access to this app in the system configuration settings which can be accessed through the Action Bar from the app, otherwise this app cannot work.
