The solution: QR Control allows you scan a code, view the full url that it would send you to with research on the WHOIS information on the domain and where the website is hosted. QR Control allows you to cancel, continue, OR modify the destination before continuing.

While the built in QR Reader does give you a small amount of visibility into the location you will be opening, it does not allow you to see it all.
