Shade Research

This app saves the data recorded by the Shade UV sensor on the Android phone, but not on Shade's servers. It includes UVI, UVB, UVA, several channels in the visible light spectrum, and infrared. The frequency of measurement and time periods over which exposure is aggregated can be customized. This app does not display any real-time or historical data on its interface so that users are not biased by the sensor's measurements.

Instructions to pair a sensor to the app via Bluetooth:

1. When the app is first installed, ensure Bluetooth on the phone is "on"

2. Pair the Shade UV sensor within the Shade app, not via Android's own scanning & pairing.

To access the data recorded by the sensor, go into your smartphone folder called "/shade_aggregate_logs". To access your smartphone folders, you may use Android File Transfer (https://www.android.com/filetransfer/).
