The icons show up the moment you install Statlet. They were filed as "silent" notifications, and recent Android hides those from the status bar until you allow it — so a new install came up empty. They still make no sound, and if the bar stays empty the app now says why and takes you to the switch.

They also stay off your lock screen now.

And if you wear a Wear OS watch, this phone sends it your battery, temperature, memory, free space and data used.
