The virtue of Surah Yasin
First: Surah Yasin is the heart of the Qur'an
From Anas bin Malik radhiyallahu ‘anhu, he said that the Prophet sallallaahu‘ alayhi wa sallam said,
إِإىْءٍَىْءٍَىْءٍَىْءٍَىْءييييييء.
"Everything has a heart. The heart of the Qur'an is Surah Yasin. Whoever recites Surah Yasin, Allah will record it for him as if reading the Qur'an ten times. "(Narrated by Tirmidhi, no. 2887)
Comments: This hadith is DHA'IF.
This hadith was confirmed by Imam Tirmidhi, in which he said, "This hadith is gharib, we do not know him except from the hadith of Humaid bin‘ Abdirrahman and in Basrah they do not know except from the Qatadah hadith from this path. Harun Abu Muhammad is a shaykh majhul (unknown). "
Imam Tirmidhi also said that this hadith came from the Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq route. But in terms of this hadith sanad Da'eef. Also this hadith is from Abu Hurairah.
Al-Hafizh Abu Thahir commented that the hadith of this hadith is da'eef in the throne of Jami 'At-Tirmidhi, no. 2887.
Shaykh Al-Albani in the Lineage of Adh-Dha'ifah, no. 169, 1: 312-314 states that this hadith is mawdhu '(worse than dha'if). Shaykh Al-Albani also considered the inaccuracy of As-Suyuthi and Ash-Shabuni's statements which confirmed this hadith.
Second: Reciting surah Yasin to people who will die
From Ma’qil bin Yasar radhiyallahu ‘anhu, the Prophet sallallaahu‘ alayhi wa sallam said,
اقْرَءُوا (يس) عَلَى مَوْتَاكُمْ
"Recite Surah Yasin to those who almost died among you." (Narrated by Abu Daud, no. 3121; Ibn Majah, no. 1448; An-Nasa'i in 'Amal Al-Yaum wa Al-Lailah, no. 1074 )
Comments: This hadith is DHA'IF
This hadith has two reasons:
This hadith experiences idhthirab [1] in sanad. This hadith is narrated from Abu 'Uthman, from his father, from Ma'qil in marfu' (up to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). There is also a history that mentions from Abu 'Uthman, from Ma'qil in marfu', without mentioning the father of Abu 'Uthman. There is also a history that mentions from someone (without mentioning the name), from his father, from Ma'qil in a marfu manner. There is also a history of Ma'qil in a mawquf (only to the companions of the Prophet only, meaning to be Ma’qil's words).
As mentioned by Imam Adz-Dzahabi in Mizan Al-Ieidal fii Naqd Ar-Rijal, Abu ‘Uthman and his father are narrators of majhul (unknown) who are not known who they are.
But it needs to be understood, Abu ‘Uthman referred to above is not Abu‘ Uthman An-Nahdi. Because Sulaiman At-Taimi used to have a history from Abu ‘Uthman An-Nahdi, his real name was‘ Abdurrahman bin Mall. Abu ‘Uthman An-Nahdi here is credible, a trusted person and an expert on worship as mentioned in At-Taqrib. Al-Hafizh Ibn Hajar in At-Talkhish (2: 110) quoted from Ibnul ‘Arabi, from Ad-Daruquthni, he said," The Sanad of this hadith is da'eef, the death of majhul (unknown). There is no authentic hadith in this chapter at all. ”(See Minhah Al-amAllam, 4: 241-242)
