Good news: no more crashes on Android Oreo!
Bad news: in order to fix those crashes we had to add a new persistent notification for Clipboard Monitor - you will see it while Clipbrd is running in the background.

You can get rid of this notification by long-pressing it.
But then another annoying "app running in the background" system notification will appear.
Oh well, I guess Google had to deal with those battery-hungry apps...

Just in case, Clipbrd's battery impact is still minimal!
