As labor consultants we regularly have to assist Employers of domestic workers to resolve disputes with either the department of Labor or the CCMA depending on what the complaints are.

Due to lack of knowledge of the domestic worker industry 9 out 10 cases ended up in the Employers have to settle matters for anything from 3 to 12 months' wage or reinstatement in the CCMA and fines and penalties for unpaid or arrears UIF with the Department of Labor and in many cases both.

This challenge in the industry brought about the establishment of Edomestix (Pty) Ltd as a solution to Employers of Domestic workers where they can subscribe to an inexpensive administrative system to resolve all challenges brought by the proclamations and the applications of legislation such as the Basic Conditions of Employment Act , through the Sectoral Determination 7, Unemployment Insurance Act and also the Employment Equity Act.
