Animated WebP and PNG pictures play, as GIFs do. The title bar scrolls out of sight as you scroll down a document, and comes back when you scroll up or reach the top. A presentation's bullets show as the arrows, squares and ticks they are, where some were empty boxes or the letter l, and the text after them lines up as it does in PowerPoint. Symbols set in Wingdings 2, Wingdings 3 or Webdings show correctly in .doc, .odt and .rtf files.

Print a PDF or a Word file from the viewer's menu, through Android's own print screen. A PDF prints exactly as it is, and a Word, .odt or .rtf file prints the way Gander shows it. A file another app opens in Gander, such as a WhatsApp attachment, now gets a card of its own in your recent apps, so you can switch between the chat and the file.

A track keeps playing when the screen goes off, with play and pause on the lock screen. Presentations saved from Google Slides open, and slides keep their lines, their bold titles and their words whole. A large spreadsheet shows its first rows at once. A recent file or folder is removed by swiping it aside, with Undo. A CSV saved as UTF-8 keeps its accents, a PDF in night mode sits on black, and Verilog and VHDL files open as text.

Gander opens Word 97-2003, OpenDocument text and Rich Text documents, looks inside .zip files without unzipping them, and shows .stl 3D models you can turn with a finger. A PDF reopens at the page you left it on, and videos fill the screen. Script inside a document can no longer run, and other apps can no longer make Gander open its own files. Search covers every sheet of a workbook, and in night mode the bars around a PDF go dark with it.
