Helpu

Helpu is a location-based platform to connect refugees and volunteers in their immediate vicinity. It is the first smartphone application that lets refugees speak for themselves and compose their own requests, help organize and direct volunteers' efforts and enables both sides to get into direct contact via a built-in chat service and a real-time broadcasting service.

Helpu is developed and managed by a multinational group of students and young professionals contributing their expertise to help refugees integrate smoothly ino their European host societies.

Services provided by Helpu:

• Help the refugees move out of camps and find safe and secure living arrangements for them and their families.

• Orient refugees to schooling, apprenticeship or job chances nearby.

• Help with understanding and filling out documents.

• Find a volunteering bilingual companion for important appointments.

• Provide furniture, clothing, baby carriages or books to families in need.
