Podi , Rasam & More...

My dear granny “ Laxmi pati” from Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu taught me the basics in cooking. She taught me the importance of keeping the kitchen clean, arranging the simple brass and steel vessels beautifully, cutting the veggies uniformly, using the right knives and exact measurements to cook the food. There was hardly any wastage and if there was, it was quickly turned around with a twist in the next meal, amazing na!!!!

I have always felt that our grannies and mothers made the most delicious food but were never celebrated or written about. Hence the thought of starting this store “ PODI, RASAM & MORE” to share the wonderful tasty food and their recipes with those who relish South Indian food. Please note this is definitely much more than the IDLI & DOSA !!!

I have tried to include my tip wherever possible to make the whole experience very satisfying This store is a small way to remember and stay connected with all the amazing cooks - my pati to amma to chithi to mami, as they tie us to our roots and our Indian tradition !!!!
