Surveyor se utiliza para recopilar ubicaciones precisas para el fitomejoramiento y la genética.
A prerequisite to the implementation of geospatial data in plant breeding programs is the ability to collect high-resolution geospatial data. Surveyor allows users to organize and collect single point locations to centimeter level precision via an external RTK GNSS. Surveyor is designed for easy access to various external modular GNSS providers. Surveyor can acquire data from the mobile device hardware itself or use a Bluetooth connection to read GNSS-provided data via NMEA strings. Samples are grouped into an experiment, with the ability to manage multiple experiments within the app. Plot-level details include, latitude, longitude, accuracy of the fix, altitude, vertical and horizontal precision, number of satellites connected for that data, along with other information about the satellites and various statistics. To operate across any location and broad range of field conditions, Surveyor expects to be used without internet connection, as data acquisition is important in fields with little or no internet availability. However, users still have the option within the app of plotting locations on Google Map for visualization. Plots on the map can be clicked to create a polygon shape.
