Vijnana Bhairava Tantra

'Vijnana' or 'Vigyana' means consciousness, 'Bhairava' means the state which is beyond consciousness, and 'Tantra' means the technique or method.

This book is a discourse between god Shiva and his wife Devi or Shakti. Devi asks Shiva about his true nature and the ways to reach him. He answers her questions and define his true nature of emptiness and consciousness. He presents 112 techniques or methods to invoke the super consciousness. Many of them seems repetitive but the emphasis is on going beyond the mind, being thoughtless and to realise one's own nature which is no different from that of Shiva or Bhairava.

This book was widely quoted by Osho in his teachings and writings.
