Hajj is an annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, and it is considered one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a religious duty for Muslims who are physically and financially able to undertake the journey at least once in their lifetime. The pilgrimage takes place during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, specifically from the 8th to the 12th day of the month.

The rituals of Hajj have historical and symbolic significance, commemorating the actions and sacrifices of the Prophet Muhammad and the prophets before him. The following is a general description of the main rituals involved in Hajj:

Ihram: Before entering the state of Ihram, which is a state of purity and consecration, pilgrims perform a ritual bath and put on special garments. Men wear two seamless white sheets, while women dress modestly but are not required to wear specific attire. In this state, pilgrims enter a state of spiritual focus and abstain from certain actions such as cutting hair, clipping nails, using perfume, or engaging in any form of sexual activity.

Arrival in Mecca: Pilgrims travel to the city of Mecca, where the Grand Mosque, known as Masjid al-Haram, is located. Upon arrival, they perform the Tawaf, which involves circling the Kaaba, a black cubic structure located at the center of the mosque.
