The marine sphere was chosen by the developers for a reason. Nowadays, space has been studied by people very thoroughly, what can't be said about the underwater world. That is why diving to the ocean floor will be so fascinating and bring unexpected surprises, sometimes even not very pleasant (for example, a collision with jellyfish). The uniqueness of the game process of Subnautica is that after spending several hours under the water, you don't have time to evaluate the entire scale of the underwater world.

The game Subnautica is a friendly world, there are no particularly aggressive and annoying monsters. There are simply dangerous underwater creatures to which it is better not to approach.
