DigHere: Gold Prospecting

DigHere turns high resolution government LiDAR into a prospecting map you can actually use in the field. See the shape of the ground the way a geologist does, find historic gold workings, and navigate straight to the spot you want to dig.

WHAT YOU GET

Terrain that reveals old workings

Switch between base and high resolution LiDAR hillshade to pick out pits, shafts, mullock heaps and tailings that are invisible on an ordinary map.

Gold workings and leases

Historic workings, current mining leases and historic leases, mapped across Australia and tappable for detail.

Drill assays and watercourses

Overlay drill hole assays and stream networks to build a picture of where the gold moved.

Dig Here fusion pins

Prospectivity scoring that ranks ground for you, with a plain language breakdown of why a spot scored the way it did.

Search anywhere

Type a place name to fly there, or paste GPS coordinates in almost any format, including decimal, hemisphere tagged and labelled lat and long. The same search you know from the DigHere website.

Navigate to your pin

A live compass points the way, with distance, bearing, speed and ETA. It keeps working when there is no phone signal.

Built for the bush, works offline

Save a map area before you leave home. Base maps, terrain, overlays and your pins are stored on the phone so the app keeps working with no reception.

3D terrain

Fly over the landscape in 3D to read the lay of the land before you walk it.

FREE AND PREMIUM

DigHere is free to use for maps, pins, navigation and offline saving. Premium terrain layers and analysis are available to DigHere members. You can create a free account to sync your pins and routes, or use the app anonymously with no sign up.

Gold prospecting involves access rules and land tenure that vary by state. Always check that you are permitted to prospect or fossick before you dig.
