Filmtyme VR Camera

You are an embedded journalist travelling with a small US Army special forces team as they battle an opposing force.

Armed with a virtual camera you will film your own version of the story as it unfolds in an immersive 3D world. You can later re watch your footage as your own movie on Youtube.

This immersive journalism experience combines live action with 3D animation.

What makes this experience unique, useful or innovative:

Virtual reality offers film makers an opportunity to step into their story world and get a 360 degree real time perspective of the world they are trying to bring to life. This is ideal for previsualization and production planning as the film maker can leverage the presence that VR offers and look for new shots and camera angles as they walk around their virtual set. What is missing is a virtual camera that the film maker can use to shoot.

Notes/ known issues on/with this Closed Beta build:

-You can walk around the battle scene and move your camera around to film (has head tracking).

-The back end youtube link is not enabled on this build so you are "shooting blanks".

-Some of the textures are missing so you will see a few buildings that are pink.

-Also missing is the GUI menu.

-We disabled the intro Humvee ride intro as seen in video

-We need to fix scale so that you are the same size as soldiers

--(right now it feels more like a drone camera when it shoudl feel like a FPS without the gun!)
