Growth

Growth is a means for people to improve their standards of living and realize their aspirations. It allows developing economies to catch up with the advanced economies. At times, growth is subdued and economic policy will seek to boost it. Achieving a satisfactory trend rate of growth is another policy objective. In doing so the environmental impact must be taken into account as well as the fact that growth does not necessarily coincide with increased wellbeing.
