InstaShare moves files between your phone and another desktop browser privately. Open https://instashare.dev/ on the computer, choose Send or Receive in the app, and scan the QR code. No desktop software and no account, direct device to device transfer fully encrypted, file is never uploaded on any servers

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open instashare.dev in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari on any desktop device.

2. In InstaShare, tap Send or Receive and scan the code.

3. Choose a file. The other side must accept the send or receive request before anything is sent.

4. Stay connected to send or receive another file without pairing again.

HOW TRANSFER WORKS

File bytes go directly between the phone and the browser over an encrypted connection. InstaShare does not upload your files to a cloud and does not keep a file history on our servers.

The receiving side always sees the file name, type, and size and must accept before the transfer starts. After the bytes arrive, InstaShare checks the exact size and a SHA-256 digest before it calls the transfer complete. You can cancel from the progress screen or the transfer notification.

SOME NETWORKS WILL NOT CONNECT

A direct path between the phone and the computer is required. That often works, and it can fail on restrictive networks because InstaShare does not use a relay server. If pairing or transfer cannot find a path, the app will says so. It does not report a failed cloud upload.

PRIVACY CLARIFICATIONS

Firebase is used only to pair the two devices for a short time and anonymously. Firebase analytics is only used to track app crashes and number of app installs which enable the developers to keep improving the app and provide bug fixes
